Dear Ladies,
Greetings from Africa! The last six weeks have been a whirlwind and it has taken me some time to recuperate. Needless to say, the older I get the longer it takes to recover from those long trips across the ocean and back.
We were privileged in May to be able to fly to Missouri and attend the 50th anniversary services of Berean Baptist Church in Springfield, MO; visit with my parents and a few of my sisters; visit with Doug’s family; attend the 50th anniversary of Bible Baptist Church in Grand Forks, ND; visit several other churches to present our work here in Africa; and be present at the birth of our 9th grandchild!!!
My head is still spinning, just thinking about all the miles traveled. But we praise the Lord for His protection and safety all along the way, and for the way He met all of our needs. Each church we were in gave us a generous love offering which helped to meet all the expenses. Three of the churches were new ones and promised support in the future.
Our original tickets for our return flights had to be changed because our grandson hadn’t arrived yet. But the agent I spoke to on the phone waived the fee for changing our tickets. The fee would have been $800, so that was a huge blessing from the Lord!!
It was a blessing also to be in the two anniversary services and hear how God has blessed over the years in those churches. We were encouraged by the sweet fellowship with God’s people, getting to see old friends, and making some new ones along the way.
Pray for us as we get settled back in here in Africa and get busy doing the work that God has called us to do. We thank all of you for your prayers, your love, and your support.
