The Bible says in Ecclesiastes 12:1, “Remember now thy Creator in the days of thy youth, while the evil days come not, nor the years draw nigh, when thou shalt say, I have no pleasure in them.”
‘Remember’ means more than “think about God.” It means “pay attention to, consider with the intention of obeying.” In our children’s youthful years, it is easy to get caught up in all the enjoyments of youth. Because of that, we must help our children lay a foundation of God’s Word that will equip them for the dark and difficult days that are coming. Then they will be like ‘a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth fruit in his season: his leaf shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.’ (Psalm1:3)
