Dear Ladies,
As I sit here this morning in the beautiful coastal town of Busselton, Western Australia, I can't help but think once again how blessed I am to be used here by God. This place and these people have my heart!
What I want to share with you today is something that I find myself struggling with and possibly you, too. As I share this with you, it is my prayer and desire that it may help someone else or cause some of you to pray for me when God brings it to your mind.
Now it came to pass, as they went, that he entered into a certain village: and a certain woman named Martha received him into her house. And she had a sister called Mary, which also sat at Jesus' feet, and heard his word. But Martha was cumbered about much serving, and came to him, and said, Lord, dost thou not care that my sister hath left me to serve alone? bid her therefore that she help me. And Jesus answered and said unto her, Martha, Martha, thou art careful and troubled about many things: But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her.Luke 10:38-42
I find that most women are either a Mary or a Martha. I also know that some are a well balance of both because I have met them. I'm a Martha! I have a servant's heart but I sometimes find myself cumbered about much serving, and struggling to find time to sit at the feet of Jesus and hear from His Word. I know that it is NEEDFUL for me be sitting at the feet of Jesus daily by being in His Word. Satan also knows my weaknesses and does all sorts of things to hinder, interrupt, or distract my time alone with God.
Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.Matthew 7:24-25
I know that I want my house built upon the Rock - Jesus Christ! Because the rain has descended, the floods have came, and the winds have blown; and the only reason my house has stayed, is because it is built on the Solid Rock of Christ.
Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.John 14:23
I can't do this life here on earth without my God. Even in my flesh, I can't serve the Lord or be at the feet of Jesus without him abiding in me.
If ye know these things, happy are ye if ye do them.John 13:17
It is my desire to live a happy, obedient, victorious Christian life. Not only for myself, but for those I come in contact with here in Australia, or on the other side of the world.
So ladies, I challenge you to serve the Lord to the best of your ability - for our Saviour. And remember, we can't do that if we're not FIRST spending time at the feet of our Lord!
