Lay Down the Tracks
Do you remember that time
Life brought a sudden collision?
When you were startled, without warning,
To a point of decision?
That moment where you realized
How much you needed God?
You wanted instant help…
But sudden prayer seemed odd.
With an urgent plea, you sent up a prayer,
But it somehow seemed too late.
You’d seldom asked for God’s help before,
Why should He now lend aid?
When things were going well and good,
You neglected to think ahead,
To ask His presence, help, and strength
To forge the path He led.
Our prayers should be laid like railroad tracks,
For our life is like a train –
Driven along by the hands of time
Steadily ground we gain.
Each day, and each plan should be encompassed,
With fervent and careful prayer.
So with each new mile that’s ventured on,
We’ll know that God’s been here.
These prayers can help us be prepared
For we know not what tomorrow will bring;
It’s bound to reveal a fork in the road
A trial; a hard choice; an opportunity…
Something will come which requires God’s help
And we best not be caught unawares.
When the moment arrives, watch Him bless your preparation
As you traverse the tracks of your prayers.

Nina came to know the Lord as a teenager, and is grateful for the Lord’s grace and mercy in her life as she has sought to grow in her relationship with Christ through the years.
She and her husband currently attend Lehigh Valley Baptist Church and enjoy being a part of the ministries there. Along with being a wife and homemaker, she is thrilled to be able to teach music lessons to a number of piano students in the area. Poetry and meditational or motivational writings based on scripture have also remained one of her passions through the years!
