“Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.” I Timothy 6:12
“Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all to stand.” Ephesians 6:13
This is Our Day
It’s time to stand, my brethren,
Lift up your swords and fight!
Join hands with one another
And live for what is right!
We’re living in a battle, friend,
This life is not a game.
We’re in the fight until the end
In Jesus’ conquering name.
Why do we live as if we’re owed
A life of comfort and ease?
We aren’t supposed to make each choice
Ourselves alone to please.
Our fathers who have gone before
Have left a bloody trail.
They stood their ground and gave their lives –
Stood firmly ‘mid the gale.
And now that cloud of witnesses
Encompasses us about;
Cheering us on to win the crown
And never sway nor doubt.
But know, my brother, that this is our day.
We cannot live in the past.
They served their generation well
And now their crowns they’ve cast.
Fight the good fight of Faith, dear ones,
For night is hastening on.
You are on the victory side,
But we war ‘neath a setting sun.
Lift up your heads, O Christians,
Strive for holiness in our land.
And choose to see with sober hearts
That this is our day – our day to stand.
