Dear Ladies,
Greetings from a beautiful Chile! We are enjoying cooler days, the sounds of the children returning to school, and the changes in scenery that the early fall brings. We are also in the process of packing up our house and preparing for our furlough back to the States. We are looking forward to being at home and spending time with our home church and visiting our supporting churches.
These last couple of months have been very eventful ones. It has been a year since the big earthquake here in Chile. The ground continues to shake and remind us that the Lord will soon be returning. Just recently, we experienced the affects of the tsunami in Japan and we thank the Lord by the time that the waters had arrived in Chile they has lost their intensity. A couple of towns up the road from us experienced some stronger affects but all in all it was not as bad as some were predicting.
We have continued to work with our small group here in Tome and Coliumo. I was able to finish a discipleship course with Elsa and she has recently just started a more intense course. She has been a real blessing to me. She witnesses to her family and friends and has already started to teach others how to be saved. She has some difficult decisions to make and I ask for your prayers for her. In light of our return back to the States, I am trying to leave all the materials that I can to help her to continue to grow spiritually and to reach out to others.
On the home front, we are busy with schoolwork and getting our house in order to be able to move. It seems that the sea air has been good for Joshua and Timothy because as I go through their clothes I am finding that they have outgrown a lot of their pants!!! The Lord has been working in the hearts of my children and they have been making important spiritual decisions in their lives. As many of you know, Andrew moved to Santiago to study and work. He is doing well and getting adjusted to his new life in the big city! He will be staying here in Chile the year that we are in the States. You can probably figure out what my mothers heart has been experiencing lately!
I am looking forward to being back in the States and being able to spend some personal time with you ladies. We will see you soon!
Love,
Michelle
